What Webflow handles for you
Webflow is a visual design tool that also hosts the finished site. A site can have a CMS: collections of items such as team members or posts, each with a template page that Webflow turns into a page per item. Forms made with Webflow's form tool store their submissions in the project's site settings and can email them to named recipients. Redirects, custom code in fixed head and footer locations, and a custom domain are all managed in the same project.
Because the hosting is Webflow's, the pieces fit together without your own server. The cost of that is that some things are decided by the platform, and its documented limits matter.
- Collections, template pages and lists are built in the Designer.
- Forms, redirects and custom code are configured in site settings.
- Your Webflow plan decides how much you can have.
Documented limits that catch owners out
Webflow's own user accounts feature, once called Memberships, was shut down on 29 January 2026, so a members-only area now needs a third-party service. A collection list on a page shows at most 100 items unless pagination is turned on. Form submissions are not processed if the site's code has been exported and hosted elsewhere. The free Starter plan has a lifetime limit on form submissions.
Importing a CSV of redirects replaces all the redirects already in place, and redirects only take effect after a full-site publish. CMS imports have a file size limit, and plan limits on items and collections change from time to time, so read the limits on your own plan before designing.
- Check Site settings, Plans for the limits that apply to you.
- Export current redirects before importing a new set.
- Plan for the 100-item display limit in lists.
Jobs that fit a bounded fix
Several faults on a Webflow site have a clear cause, a short list of fixes and a test that shows the result. A form that stores submissions but does not email them, a pasted snippet that breaks a page or a tag that counts twice, a domain stuck on pending, a slow landing page, a redirect map after a relaunch, and a CSV import into a collection are all of that kind. So is building a CMS collection with its template page and list, and rebuilding a five-page site from your own content.
Each of these has a stand-alone fixed-scope job with an acceptance test, priced as an untested proposal and paid only after sign-off. A standing monthly service checks forms and embeds, and another keeps landing pages inside a weight budget.
- Send the page address and a short description first, never logins.
- Expect a written scope and test before any access is asked for.
- Your account holder publishes every change.
Access and what stays yours
You keep the Webflow project, the plan, the domain and the data. Access is agreed with you in writing before any work starts, and no work starts until it is; any access we use is through a company-controlled account, never a personal login. Webflow's Designer and Site manager roles can build pages and collections and open a site's custom code section, and the Site manager role manages all site settings; its Marketer and Content editor roles cannot create a Collection or open custom code. The Designer and Site manager roles use a paid full seat in your Workspace, or a guest invitation, which Webflow allows only to a Freelancer or Agency Workspace. We name the exact role and any seat charge in the quote before you invite anyone, and those charges are yours. You can remove our access at any time. No passwords or payment details go by ordinary email. The first enquiry never needs a login.
